The Lands Of MultiMUD : Akirema
|
 |
West of Keoranger, across the great ocean, lies the island of Akirema. Though a bit smaller than its sister island Keoranger, Akirema boasts generally more modern cities, and its inhabitants claim that its local attractions, including the baseball tournaments, a popular musical group, and the Amber markets, far outshine anything that the larger island has to offer.
"That thing across the highway, that glows an’ all? Well no, I can’t tell you what it is. Sometimes sounds like voices, but for the life of me I can’t tell what they’re saying. I say it’s none of my business. Now, would you like to buy some flowers? Just picked today!" - Violet, flower lady of Amber
Even more than Keorangar, the lands of Akirema boast a variety of forms, inhabitants, and technological levels. The intrepid and curious explorer may visit the world famous Cybernetics Institute, bringing the future closer to home. Just a short walk down the highway, however, lie the quaint villages of Villariba and Villabajo, whose inhabitants are known less for their hard work and powerful military than their lazy afternoons and plentiful smiles. A short walk further leads to the coastal city of Nova Colonia, where travelers may find solace in the Cathedral, work in the dockyards, or low-cost passage on the clipper Titania back to Keoranger.
Well, I guess it was about six months ago... I was walking to the market and, it was like the sky lit up into fire. And gods, what an explosion! The buildings shook all across the city, and they had to replace some in the courthouse." - Stephen Caracos, Pleasanton resident, over a cup of coffee
In addition to its varied lands and attractions for the wandering tourist/explorer, Akirema offers battles for both the worthiest knight and darkest assassin. From petty thieves in Pleasanton to evil magicians in Amber, small harmless creatures to proud judges, Akirema offers excitement and a challenge to even the most experienced hero or villain.
The foremost cartographer of the lands has painted the continent of Akirema. Above are fragments of his maps, the full map can be accessed by clicking on the minature to the right (note it is a large(400k+) file).
