MultiMUD's Clans

In MultiMud, no character need be an island. We have a clan system set up that allows your character to join up with others of similar purpose, forming a community greater than the sum of its parts. Depending on the makeup of each individual clan, there may be no restriction on membership, while others require specific alignments or classes. The primary restriction on a clan is that your character must more or less agree with the clan’s RP. Clans include the noble Paladins, defenders of honor, the Followers of Thador, evil defenders of the dark Underworld, the Famiglia, Mafioso out for no one but themselves, and Clan Spellworm, dedicated to the discovery of new and lost magical techniques, plus several others, each dedicated to a unique purpose.
Clans may have a clanhome, guarded to prevent all access but their own. Each clan may select a Clan Immortal, who serves to both oversee the clan and work as a liaison between the immortals and the clan. Additionally, each clan is provided a unique item, available only to members of the clan, matched to fit each clan’s individual purpose and roleplay. Finally, clans have a private clan channel, which only they and the Gods may use, for purposes of roleplay and co-ordination clan activities. However, clans are not set in stone, they may be deleted if the members do not show enough activity. Thus, it is important to join only clans that truly fit each character’s roleplay, as having an alternate character in each clan will generally prevent you from keeping up enough activity in each individual clan.
