The Elven Tree

The Elven Tree is an enormous tree which grows west of Midgaard in the light forest. It is the hometown of the elven people. It is a beautiful city nestled high within the trees branches. The city is a peaceful place where lower level travellers can feel safe. The usual plethora of shops, practicing grounds and friendly guards is present there.

"One day someone saw supposedly a child walking into the Forest of Haon Dor at sunset, and we all know there are wolves there. So we formed a crew, met and equipped. We lit our lanterns, and marched into the Forest, but soon, we could see sparks of coloured light above our heads, and there was this singing... One of my fellows reports, that he saw houses on a gigantic tree, which just would shape into visibility once you were near enough. No one believed him, yet I do ..."
-Wilhelm, Midgaard peacekeeper

The people of the Elven Tree do by far not trade as much as the people from the other main towns of Keorangar, instead they hunt and collect what they need to survive on their own, or create it with their powerful magic. The community of the tree is lead by the Elder Chieftain, in cooperation with the other Elders of Ganzanderbi: the Elder Sage and the elder priestess. Those three typically decide on the fate and course of the Elven tree.

The folk from Ganzanderbi typically is a quite religious folk, religious in the sense of fitting into Nature, and shaping instead of creating from dead parts; and this is exactly how the elven tree was built, by shaping the tree to grow in the directions the elven archmages wanted it to. Altogether there seems to exist a certain fidget concerning elves coming from the Elven Tree, as they are powerful, noble and strange aliens where you better take care what you are doing and saying.
