The Lands Of MultiMUD : Keorangar

Whether a Human, Orc, Elf, or any other race, all find a home in Keorangar. Dominated by the populous city of Freyburg, Keorangar is additionally home to the pleasant tree of the Elves, the Human city of Midgaard, the caves of the Dwarves, the dark tunnels of the Orcs, the pleasant land of the Hobbits, and even the eerie castle of the Vampires.

"Well, I can't rightly be sure, but late some nights the eastern wind sounds almost like laughter... and more than one traveler has returned from that place so close to death that the clerics were up all night, praying for healing. I'd not travel there accompanied by King Welmar's army, let alone by myself... unless the reward was plentiful enough."
- Laran Thalimar, Midgaard Peacekeeper

In addition to the diversity brought into Keorangar by the multitude of races which call its lands home, the great island offers much for those who enjoy wandering to see and admire. The magnificent castle of His Majesty, King Welmar, lies but a short distance north of well-known Freyburg. Ancient tales speak of a sunken ship far to the west, and the war-scarred city of Kerofk defends Keorangar from eastern attacks.

"Beware! There be monsters in those woods! Big as a house! And the teeth!"
- Half-mad wanderer, taken into custody the Western Road.

Although its populous cities make Keorangar fairly safe, the surrounding forests and outlying villages can offer quite the battle for even experienced heroes. Though some cities such as Ankh-Morpork are relatively friendly, Midgaard children know not to venture too far into the woods, and tales in Kerofk speak of the dead walking again.

"He..he was like a man, but with skin of steel, next to some glowing witchery. He came right for me, but my good sword Lanaver spoke true and sent him off to his home. I don't know what else is out there, but I'd not leave the Northern road."
-Teor Aethoran, wandering knight, offering advice to a squire.

The foremost cartographer of the lands has painted the continent of Keorangar. Above are fragments of his maps, the full map can be accessed by clicking on the minature to the right (note it is a large(400k+) file).
