The Lands Of MultiMUD
|
 |
From Jurassic swampland to desert wastelands, the ancient city of Rome to the futuristic Kadar space station, the dark and oppressive underworld to the wondrous city of Olympus, the lands of MultiMud are as varied as its occupants.
Divided into three major islands, plus Sci-Fi in a separate dimension, the realms of MultiMud seek to be both creative and to fit their surroundings. New adventurers begin on the isle of Keorangar, home to many of the realms major races. Rather than jarring the far-wandering explorer with sudden transitions from medieval villages to space-age supercities, the realms of MultiMud remain in time-step with each other across three major islands, while major time and continuity changes are performed only through time warps and rifts to other dimensions. The short of foot need not feel concerned about crossing the oceans to Akirema or The Isle of The Serpents, with the Rifts connecting each island, for a few coins. The frugal, however, will find that with the right navigational abilities, and some legwork, passage between the islands may be done for the cost of a simple boat, or a mystical spell.
However, the land is not all friendly, and both the pure of heart and dark of soul can find foes ranging from poisonous snakes to world shaking demons, small children to pious bishops, and even ranging groups of wolves, unicorns, and footmen. Even the lands themselves may be hostile, trapping the unwary in mazes and puzzles, or perhaps even killing the unobservant outright. However, those who know where to look may find treasure, and sometimes even mystical items available to only a select few. A glimpse of what wonders you may find can be seen in the zone list.
The foremost cartographer of the lands has painted the world. a large version of the map can be accessed by clicking on the minature to the right (note it is a large(400k+) file).
